Nine years ago to the day the cast that enclosed my recovering Achilles was removed. Cast Off day has since been a celebration of repair; the mending that I still feel on my right Achilles tendon if I work it too hard. But the feeling is good, it's a reminder of how badly I was hurt and how amazing it felt when I was repaired.
